They say that you can literally do anything with your phone. Until now, there was one thing you couldn’t do with it, and that is give yourself pleasure. Well thanks to Delaware’s Peter Drakelle, your phone can now be used as an adult toy. I interviewed Peter about his new invention

VL: So you have created a vibrator app? Tell me about it.

PD: I basically took the standard vibrating technology, and created a vibrator app. But it was not as easy as it seems. I had to create an attachment, as well as technology to make it work on all phones. From what I heard, it works amazing. Buy one for your wife or girlfriend. I guarantee she will love it!

VL: I will definitely keep that in mind. Do you own this space or do you have competitors?

PD: I own it, but I have heard that other copy cats are coming out with their own versions. My hope is that we can own the market by the time they release their inferior product. I was really upset at first, because I created the technology. But you learn fast that copying the greatest form of flattering. Also I guarantee that he will not win the money that I will make with the app.

VL: So is it your standard adult toy or is it something different?

PD: We started out with your standard vibrator, but now it has become really huge! We have over 100 attachments. We are also working on a bunch of new products using this technology.

VL: What other products are you working on?

PD: We are working on a hand buzzer connector with the phone. We are working on a shaker. We are working on a back vibrator. They are all in the early stages, but they will all be attachments for your phone! We aren’t just creating adult toys here!

VL: Wow! That sounds great. Tell me about the massager.

PD: This could be our million dollar product. We have foot and back attachments. This could really revolutionize at home massaging. With the prototypes, they work great. I picture this being a must have for people on planes, truck drivers, office workers, etc.

VL: Does the phone work while you are getting the back massage?

PD: That is an option. You can either use it in airplane mode, or leave it on.

VL: Ok back to the adult toy! How do women feel about using their phone to pleasure themselves?

PD: Hey man, there was a time when people were uncomfortable doing a lot of things with their phones. They used to have a problem with things like paying bills, using the internet, and setting their DVR. Times have changed and now we are using our phones for everything! There will be resistance at first but before you know it, the adult toy vibrating cell phone will be as popular as the rabbit.

VL: I guess people will think twice before using their friend’s phone (laughs)! Good luck, hope it’s a big success for you.

The Adult Toy industry makes hundreds of millions of dollars a year! But it has definitely come a long way from vibrators and blow up dolls. The adult toy industry has seen a huge spike in sales with edible sex toys. The standard edible panties are still a popular item, but it’s the other items that will shock you. I talked to Christy Cobert who owns a sex shop in Atlantic City to get the scoop on the latest edible Adult Toys.

VL: How long have you been in business?

CC: Next month it will be 5 years!

VL: Congrats! In this economy that is great. How is business?

CC: It was up and down for the first three years, but for the past two years it has been great! We are on pace to double last year’s sales.

VL: What can you attest to this huge spike in sales?

CC: The standards always sell, but edible sex toys are the new craze!

VL: Besides edible panties, what other items are selling.

CC: Our biggest seller is the chocolate dildo, which comes in dark and white chocolate. It comes in six different sizes, starting with six inches all the way up to twelve. As you can imagine, it combines women’s two favorite things, Chocolate and sex. It’s really a winning situation.

VL: How many of these do you sell a day, and how much do they cost?

CC: They start at $5.99 and the twelve inch one is $11.99. And we sell about 500 of these a week. Also we make them here on location. They have become so popular that I send thousands of these a week all across the country. We are very excited that we just got a huge monthly order from a major Adult Toy shop that wants ten thousand a week!

VL: Wow it sounds like this is becoming a big production! Who is your chef?

CC: You’re looking at her!

VL: How did you come up with this idea and perfect it? Because according to some of your clientele, these are like no other chocolate Adult Toys on the market.

CC: Well the difference with ours is that they hard for a long time (laughs). All kidding aside, that is why we are so successful. They don’t get soft or melt. So they are able to last as long as the ladies want them to last.

VL: What is your secret?

CC: Well if I told you that I would have to kill you. I spent a year perfecting the recipe! We now have a one of a kind product that our competition cannot compete with. In the edible Adult Toy industry, we are the best.

VL: What’s the next big thing?

CC: Well we are making strawberry dildos made like suckers. As you can imagine, these sell themselves also.

VL: Well you really have turned a niche into an amazing company! I cannot wait to see your shops all over the country.

CC: That is the plan! Hopefully next time you talk to me, it will be on my new Yacht (laughs).

Sleep With Your Toys

The normal adult toy isn’t something that you would necessarily want to sleep with! But thanks to Orlando’s Mandy Pervian’s new line of adult toys, that is now a reality. I talked to Mandy about her new line of adult toy stuffed animals.

VL: So this sounds pretty crazy! Tell me more about this new line of adult toys!

MP: Well first of all I need to tell you that I’m not a “furry” or any other kind of freak! I have always been a big fan of adult toys, and have always been self-conscience that I would leave them laying around and that my boyfriend or family members might see it! I like using them almost every night, so I had a lot of close calls. I started hiding them in a doll on my bed that had a hole in the back. After a while, all the stuffing came out and it was too much of a hassle. Anyways, I came up with an idea! I wanted to create a stuffed animal that had hidden compartments for my adult toys. Boom! Here we are 9 months later and I have just about a million dollars in sales.

VL: Wow! That is quite the story! Amazing how you already have a million in sales. I also love your themes where you match up the specific toys with the stuffed animals.

MP: Hahaha! Thank you. I put a lot of time into the concept and really want to turn this into something big! I am on pace to do five million in sales next year. After all my expenses, I can finally call myself a millionaire. I went from a girl making minimum wage who loved her adult toys to a millionaire in a year! Now if that is not a great American success story, I don’t know what is.

VL: Why stop with the sex toys? Why not market these stuffed animals with secret compartments to little kids where they keep their valuables in the stuffed animal?

MP: Way ahead of you! We already started creating the child line! They will be totally different from our adult toy line for obvious reasons and will even have a different name so that each one will have their own branding. We want this to be huge! We talked to the Shark Tank People trying to get a few million in extra on hand cash, but decided to do it ourselves. Why give someone a piece of my business when they didn’t put an ounce of work into it?

VL: It is funny that you started this concept because you were embarrassed of the adult toys, and now it is your life! You have to tell everyone your story about hiding your toys. It is an interesting dynamic how that thing that you were ashamed of is now bringing in millions.

MP: Totally! It has given me a whole new outlook on adult toys! Now I am screaming my love from them on rooftops!

The Adult Toy Cam

VL: Tell me what separates your product from the other adult toys in this space?

So I think that we are doing a great service! VL: So you are doing God’s work?

VK: Well as far as adult toys, yeah we are hahaha!

VL: How are you marketing this thing?

VK: We started doing a lot of the sex conventions. They will always be our top demographic! We also sell a ton on our website. Every week I feel more and more momentum each passing week.

VL: What kind of sales are you doing?

VK: Well we started out doing $100,000 in the first year, and now we are on pace to do over 4 million this year. We are rocking it!

VL: Wow! Those are amazing numbers! How do you take this thing to the next level?

VK: Some of the updates that we are working on are really exciting, and can really take this product to a level that has never been imagined before. I am really excited! We expect to do between eight and twelve million next year! I can see this thing becoming a nine figure business within ten years!

Adult Toys Surge

While the economy has been in shambles, the adult toy industry has been booming. No matter how much the economy struggles, sex definitely still sells. This year has been the biggest year in the history of the adult toy industry. I talked to Paul Niles an adult toy manufacturer from Pittsburgh about the latest boom in sales.

VL: Why has this year been such a great year for the adult toy industry?

PN: I think that sex is the one thing that is recession proof. It is something that we can do without having to spend money, and a good sex toy lasts for years. Also I feel like women are a lot more comfortable with their sexuality. They have no problem admitting that they are sexual beings and they like getting pleasured by adult toys.

VL: This year has definitely been the year of the sexual woman, with the success of Magic Mike and 50 shades of grey. But men also seem to be buying a lot more adult toys also. What do you think is the reason behind that surge in sales?

PN: Men have never been shy about their sexuality, but adult toy usage has been looked down on in some ways. Men no longer have to hide their love of adult toys. It is no longer uncool to talk about using adult toys.

VL: Your online store actually outsells your shop in Pittsburgh. Do you see a time where you take your business entirely online?

PN: The online business has overtaken the sales of the shop, but the shops sales are also way up. We have been in business for 22 years, and 2012 was the best year in the history of our shop. We had a great year, so I don’t see any stop in sight for our shop. The online store has definitely been great, but the shop is something that I will always keep open.

VL: What do you predict for 2013 sales? Could next year eclipse this year’s record breaking sales?

PN: Not only do I predict better sales this year, but I think we will have a 15-20% increase. This industry is on fire. I am looking forward to topping ourselves every year. I am sure the party will stop at some point, but believe me, I will be the last guy that they are kicking out the door.

VL: What do you have planned for 2013 that will make it your biggest year ever?

PN: We have signed a deal with a new spokeswoman who will be throwing adult toy parties every month at our shop. I am hoping that have a face to go with our brand will draw in a whole new audience. Either way, this year is shaping up to be a lot of fun. We have a lot of other top secret things planned that will take us to the next level. Our online store is about to expand, and we will have over 10,000 items for sale. Believe me, you haven’t seen anything yet!

Better Than The Real Thing?

When couples first get married, they have sex almost every day! That was the case for Marty and Katie, a young newlywed couple living in St Louis. The sex was hot, and it was often. VL: So you have created the ultimate Adult Toy. Tell me about it.

VL: Yes that is one of my favorite videos of all time!

BM: Basically that is what I have created.

VL: So tell me, how does it work?

VL: Explain to me how you came up with this technology.

VL: How does your mom feel about this?

We are about to sign a deal with a very famous Adult film star, and she will be the face of this product. We expect to make 5 million dollars next year.

VL: How much is the product, and what are your margins?

BM: They will retail for $199, and I am making about an 80% margin on each one. Creating the technology was the expensive part. Manufacturing these will actually be relatively cheap. We are keeping it affordable, but it’s definitely not a low end product. We are the greatest product on the market, with a mid-level price point.

VL: Wow that is great! As you know, sex sells.

BM: I wish I would have known that a long time ago. I have been trying to create all kinds of different products, and none have hit. My first venture into the Adult Toy and sex industry has been a huge success.

VL: What advice would you give to kids in College looking to create the next great product?

BM: Exactly what you just said! Sex Sells!!

Boy Band Male Revue

Imagine seeing a performance by your favorite boy band, and then at the end they take off all of their clothes? That is now a reality with Marissa DeLeon’s new show. I talked to Marissa about this amazing male revue show that has caught fire in a bottle.

VL: How did you come up with this concept?

MD: I was the creative director for a male revue show.  I wanted to mix it up a bit and told the GM of the show my ideas. He hated them, so I quit and decided to branch out on my own. I always loved boy bands and the girls who were into those bands are now grown up and of age. So I decided to put together this Boy Band Revue Show! Within a few months, we were sold out. As of today, we are completely sold out for the next 6 months. We are considering adding late shows to accommodate all of the requests.

VL: So basically you have NSYNC, New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, and other boy band impersonators and then they strip at the end?

MD: Not just at the end! The whole thing is choreographed by a former choreographer for some of the biggest artists in the world. It is a lot of fun, and really brings the ladies back to their younger days.

VL: What is the best part of the show? What makes these girls go wild?

MD: When they do “Backstreet’s Back” they go crazy! Especially when they sing the line “Am I sexual?” The roof gets blown off of the house! Also “Bye Bye Bye” is great too! They whole thing is a lot of fun!

VL: Do you plan on taking this thing on tour or to Vegas? It sounds like you have a major hit on your hands.

MD: Funny you say that! We were approached by a huge hotel on the strip that was trying to figure out the logistics of having us as a nightly show. We are definitely interested, but business is so good that it would have to be a deal that really blew us away to move the show.

The New British Invasion

Beatlemania was huge! It captivated a nation. The Male Revue industry has recently had their own UK invasion! The new male revue show from the UK is taking the United States by storm. Ahmet Krenshaw is the person behind this new show, and I got an exclusive interview with him!

VL: How did you guys get this huge popularity in the United States so quickly?

AK: We started out doing the show in a small pub in Dublin. It got bigger and bigger each week! I give a lot of credit to our feature performer in the show Liam. Most ladies say he looks like a young David Beckham. He is the perfect guy to be the face of our show! We started touring the UK, and then did a 3 night test run in Los Angeles. A lot of big celebrities came out to view the show, and the word of mouth led to a lot of press, and now we can’t even keep up with the demand. I swear it really does feel like the Beatles! We were doing 2 to 4 shows a day and the ladies wait for the guys after the show! The go crazy! We have had some close calls!

VL: I heard Liam was hanging with the celebrities last weekend, and got into a little scuffle

AK: Yeah it was crazy. He was with an A list celebrity. They were hanging out in Vegas in a VIP area. Liam and this A lister started making out and I guess her boyfriend showed up. To Liam’s credit, he didn’t know that she had a boyfriend. Her boyfriend was a 260 pound MMA fighter and attacked Liam. Thank God our Security was bigger and badder than this guy.  Let’s just say our guys took care of the situation, and Liam ended up in Miss Hollywood’s bed. It was just another adventure in this crazy ride. Every night it seems like something crazy happens. The more money we make, and the bigger venues that we play, we just keep bringing in bigger and deadlier security guys.

VL: How long could this party last?

AK: Well it’s lasting at least the next 3 years! We are booked pretty solid over here until 2016. It’s going to be a crazy ride! We got guaranteed money, so we figure strike while the iron is hot. I told the guys, give me the next 3 years, I will make you multi-millionaires, and then we can reevaluate how long we want to do this! I have all of my guys set up where they will be set for the rest of their lives when this 3 year run ends! We are touring the entire world. Most places are already sold out! The party has just begun.

VL: You are smart looking out for your guys futures right off of the bat. It is very refreshing to see someone that cares that much! Good luck to you, hopefully this thing keeps going and going until you guys are house hold names.

Male Revue To You

Imagine a Male Revue Show that does house calls? Charlene Ramirez has created her own Male Revue delivery service. I talked to Charlene about this revolutionary business.

VL: So what made you start up a Male Revue delivery service?

CR: My boyfriend was an MC at a male revue show, and it wasn’t very successful. I once got a stripper gram and had the idea of bringing the revue show to the ladies. If they got excited by one stripper, I figured a full revue show in their living room would make them go crazy! So we started up the delivery service. We started by sending out groups of 5 guys doing 8 shows every Saturday. Half hour shows with half hour for traveling! So from 6PM-2AM we were all over Miami. It became an instant hit when we got on the 5 o’clock news so we added a second team of 5. We then added Friday shows, and now we have expanded to Sundays. It’s been only 9 months and we now have 5 crews working 3 nights a week! And even with that much coverage, we are still overbooked! The good thing is that the customers are now willing to work with us a bit more. We have become an event! They want us to show up. It’s like sending out celebrities.

VL: So you guys are doing 120 shows a week in Miami? That is amazing! Do you have any thoughts on expanding throughout Florida? Or how about expanding nationwide?

CR: At this point we own Florida. Each crew has a driver, DJ, and 5 dancers. We are employing more people in the United States than Apple! We are pretty happy with our progress, but we definitely want to invade the rest of the state. As we speak, I am working on putting together a crew in Tampa. I plan on staying on the East Coast for the next 3 years, and then branching off. But right now the priority is Florida. I think that we have a great niche, and I am in the process in adding 3-5 more teams. We want to be doing 500 parties a week in Miami within the next 2 years. Also while expanding in Miami; we will kick it off in Tampa the same way we started here. We will start out with just one crew and once a week. My hope is that we will be forced to hire more people and add more days within the first 3 months.

VL: Did you ever think that you would be making this much money when you started this company?

CR: Never in my wildest dreams. I thought we can make a little money on the side, and instead it has taken over my life. I now am making this my main focus. Our numbers are going to double every 6 months. We want to make this thing as big as possible. As long as we stay cool and relevant, there is no stopping us!
